If your assigned first mile allocation is pick up, then our first mile partners such as LEX, K&N, and XDE will go to your place to collect the parcels. The handover process is divided into 5 phases namely:
Pre-Handover
Ensure that all the orders have been packed and physically ready for pick up before validating the orders to Ready to Ship. Once you validated your orders, this will alert the Logistics planning team that you have parcels ready for handover. The assigned first mile 3PL shown on the airway bill or on the shipping information on the Seller Center will only collect the orders that are packed and on Ready to Ship status.
Driver’s Arrival
The assigned courier goes to your warehouse to collect the parcels using a scanning device that contains the dispatched list of sellers assigned for pickup along with the tracking numbers of the parcels.
Scanning Process
The courier will start scanning the airway bill of the parcel and if scanning is successful, the scanned quantity on the device will be updated. It is advised that you are present to oversee the scanning process in order to avoid disputes.
In case that the parcels could not be picked up, the tracking numbers are selected by the courier and the appropriate reason code need to be captured by the scanning device. Some of the reasons include:
Oversized package
Package is not ready
Improper packaging
Barcode cannot be scanned
Merchant closed/seller not reachable
Incorrect pickup details/incorrect merchant address
Out of truck capacity
Tracking number picked up by another 3PL
Some 3PL may also require photo of the unsuccessfully handed over parcels as proof. The app features may also vary per logistics partner, but the process is generally the same.
Validation and Seller Signoff
Once done with scanning, you need to validate the accuracy of the quantity and the reason code before signing off. You will be asked to sign the device as confirmation that the handover took place. The signature on the electronic proof of handover also certifies that all information captured during the handover is accurate and final.
Post-Handover
You will receive a pickup notification via email which is sent to the email address registered to your profile on Seller Center.
