I Made The Switch: The Success Story of Gabby Recto of Ready for Great Business

Gabby Recto is one of those people born to be an entrepreneur. He has been dabbling in commerce since he was in college and has experience in real estate and even vlogging. At the height of the pandemic when he was inspired by the globally known Korean drama, Start Up. He started buying and selling Korean goods on Facebook Messenger and to his neighbors. His products were canned goods, luncheon meat, kimchi, ramen noodles. After selling for a few weeks, he decided to scale up the business by joining Lazada.

He joined Lazada due to his impression of the platform being a trusted and popular marketplace. It has its own logistics, plus it offers lots of promos and discounts - both of which are beneficial to its buyers and sellers. Further aiding his entrepreneurship journey, Gabby discovered Lazada University, the brand's online learning platform. It gave him access to engaging training sessions and modules that taught him how to grow his business, along with other useful tips. Through this, he was encouraged to join the various promotions and campaigns the platform holds regularly and was able to boost his sales, even earning five digits on a weekly basis. "·As a Lazada seller you have to keep working hard. You have to study social media, advertising and to never stop exploring what you can do for your store", he said.

Recto was able to invest in other ventures and even purchase an apartment of his own, thanks to his thriving online business. 

When asked about an advice that he would like to give to the younger generation, Gabby said that they should "Find your own purpose. Alamin kung saan ka masaya, kung saan mas mapapagaan ang buhay mo then everything follows. Find out what you are passionate about and let that guide your direction in life."
