1.2.The scope of this Policy includes Product Content uploaded (1) on Lazada, such as product images or text upload in the product display page and content found in Lazada feed and product review page, or on any other platforms where such Product Content makes reference to Lazada (“Related Platforms”), such as Lazada advertisements on social media platforms; and (2) via any form of communications, including but not limited to, images, videos or livestreams.

2. Policy

2.1. A seller shall ensure that all Product Content uploaded on Lazada or Related Platforms:

A. is complete, accurate, and not misleading; and

B. do not contain, involve, promote or relate to the following:

i. obscenity;

ii. gruesome or distasteful content;

iii. vulgarities or discriminating language; and

iv. spam messages.

3. Policy Compliance

3.1 Table 1 sets out guidelines on how to ensure compliance with the Policy.

CONTENT DISPLAY

Product title

  • Straightforward and factual

  • Consist of only relevant keywords

  • Be accurate and relevant to the product listing

Table 1

3.2 Table 2 sets out sets out scenarios you should avoid to ensure that the Product Content is complete, accurate and not misleading.

SCENARIO

EXAMPLES

Use false or misleading claims that entice users to purchase

  • "Miracle cures" for medical ailments, extreme weight loss or programs.

  • Using animated images as a form to publish fake flash sales or represent that the product is related to Lazada’s campaign or attract traffic to your store

Omit material information

  • Product suitability or any side effects of using the product

Using competitive claims

  • Product Content contains superlatives and comparatives such as the "best", "#1", "better than", "faster than", without any scientific or technical evidence to back up your claims.

  • Making price comparisons against dissimilar goods or services.

Sales promotions without the necessary permits

  • Mystery of surprise boxes without securing a Sales Promotion Permit from the Department of Trade and Industry.

Inappropriate pricing

  • Products with prices that are inflated or listing products with a very low price with the intention to attract more traffic and without the intention to sell or fulfill any orders at this price.

  • Overcharging products at grossly inflated prices without a basis is also not allowed.

Misleading discounts

  • Marking up the usual price to give customers the perception that the discount or savings is greater than normal.

Inappropriate use of product variations

  • Listing a product (typically at a price much lower than the main product) that may be an add-on, or irrelevant to the main product, as a variation to the main product, with the intention to attract traffic and mislead buyers to enter the product listing page.

  • In general, product variations should share the same product title and description, and should only vary in colors, sizes, or technical characteristics. To avoid confusion, a seller may list the add-on as a bundle, which should also include the main product.

Non-Lazada promotions

  • Promoting products on other platforms by embedding such information in images or descriptions.

Switching or recycling a listing

  • Changing the product on the listing to a different or newer item. Different and/or newer items should be created as a new listing.

You have an original listing containing content (e.g. title, pictures etc.) of Product A. Instead of creating another product listing for Product B, you amend the original listing, containing content used for Product A, to content relating to Product B

Impersonation

  • Representing your store to be an authorized store or another brand's store without permission.

  • Duplicating other stores' or brands' trademarks, product listings images and listings, or other copyrights without permission.
