What is changing in Sponsored Solutions?

Sponsored Search and Sponsored Products are merging into Sponsored Discovery. Here’s what you can expect with our latest update:

  • You will be able to find your existing campaigns under Sponsored Discovery. Check the campaign’s placements to see if they were previously created on Sponsored Search or Sponsored Products.

  • Sponsored Discovery will run on prepayment model. You will have to Top up into your account balance to avoid any disruptions in campaign serving. We have multiple Top-up payment methods, including topping up from your store earnings, debit card and credit card.

  • We are introducing credit balance to selected sellers. If you are eligible for credit, you will see a credit amount in your account balance. With credit balance, your campaigns will continue to run even if your Top-up Balance is low. The used credit amount will be deducted from your store earnings on weekly basis. If you wish to stop your spending, please pause your campaigns.

  • You will be receiving a consolidated tax invoice stating your Sponsored Discovery top-up amount and used credit amount on weekly basis. You can also cross-check the amount with the account statement found on Lazada Sponsored Solutions Center.

  • Sponsored Discovery top-up amount, spend, and credit amount will be tax-inclusive. You should be able to match the amount stated in your invoice with your top-up amount and used credit amount on Sponsored Discovery. We will not charge you additional tax amount on your top-up amount and used credit amount.

  • You will be able to create an automated campaign with automated product selection. Powered by Lazada’s machine learning technology, Automated Product Selection predicts and chooses products that are expected to perform better than other products within your store. You will only be able to create 1 campaign using automated product selection.

  • We are introducing automatic creatives improvement on Sponsored Discovery. Powered by Lazada’s machine learning technology, Automatic Creatives Improvement optimizes your product image to attract shoppers to visit your product details page and your store.

  • You will be able to bid higher on selected audiences you include Sponsored Products in your campaign placement and when you select Standard campaign type. Audience bid adjustment can boost your campaign’s performance by reaching shoppers who are interested with products similar to yours, or by re-targeting shoppers who have visited your store in the past.

  • You will also be able to make changes in bulk. Bulk edit functions are now available on campaign, product and keywords level.

  • We’ve also updated our Sponsored Solutions Terms and Conditions to incorporate these changes. You may view the latest Terms and Conditions on our Lazada Sponsored Solutions Center.

If you are eligible for credit, you will see a credit amount in your account balance.

When your Top-up Balance is low or insufficient to cover your campaign’s spending, we limit your campaign serving to make sure that there is no overcharging. This limits your promoted products visibility on Lazada platform. With credit balance, your campaign can continue to run even if your Top-up Balance is low.

Note: Your campaign will continue to run until you paused your campaign or your campaign reaches its end date. Please pause your campaign if you do not wish to continue spending on Sponsored Discovery.

Where to see your credit balance

You will be able to see the credit amount granted to you on your Account Balance. You will also be able to view the utilized amount – this is the amount that we will deduct from your store earnings every week on Monday.

  • Sponsored Discovery spend deduction happens on daily basis, with the highest priority on Voucher, Top-up Balance and Credit Balance.

  • When you have insufficient Available Balance (Voucher and Top-up Balance), we will deduct the day’s campaign spend from the credit amount granted to you.

  • The utilized credit amount will be deducted from your store earnings on weekly basis on Monday.

  • When you top up into your account, your campaign’s daily spend will be deducted from your Top-up Balance. We will not deduct previously utilized credit amount from your Top-up Balance. So you can expect to find a deduction from your store earnings on Monday.

The illustration below shows that the utilized credit amount will be deducted from your store earnings on Monday, and not from your Top-up Balance.
