Guidelines on Restricted Categories

Introduction

The Prohibited and Controlled Products Policy established a list of categories which restricts product listings by sellers. These categories are restricted due to local laws and regulations, or platform policy that may be related to health, safety, political, religious, cultural or other reasons.

Sellers may have to abide by additional requirements, terms, and conditions, including but not limited to declaration, acceptance of additional platform requirements, submission of additional business information and regulatory licenses.

How to apply to sell?

How soon would my application be approved?

Your application will be assessed by our category and business team, then it will also be reviewed and approved by our policy and compliance teams. Depending on the additional requirements and verifications of such documents and information, your application may take up-to two (2) weeks to process.

Enforcement & Checks

Lazada platform automatically scans for products which are controlled and prohibited. Should such products be mis-categorised, sellers may face enforcement action, including by not limited to, product deactivation and lock, Non-Compliance Points (NCP), category-level restrictions and further investigation by relevant law enforcement agencies.
