Shipping Labels, Package Dimension and Weight Rule

Objective of Policy

Failure to properly print out and apply, or the tampering of the shipping label or air waybill (AWB) could lead to potential issues or delays with order fulfillment.

Wrong input of dimensions and weight will result in unnecessarily additional costs or delay in fulfilment. Packaging your shipment correctly is also crucial to making sure your inventory reaches us (or our 3PL partners) and your customers with minimal interruption.

If the weight of the product on Seller Center is greater than the actual weight, the product loses competitiveness (due to higher shipping) as well as resulting in poor customer experience and customer complaints.

If the weight of the product in the system is lower than the actual weight, this can result in the 
seller losing money for compensating the additional shipment charges.

Possible consequences of improper shipping labels or air waybills

Under this policy, we require that the shipping label or air waybill produced be clear and without damage. Shipping labels should have all three barcodes clear and printed properly. Labels should not be folded, nor be tampered with external tools (markers, pens, tape, etc.) in any way that could make details on the label unclear.

Lazada's shipping partners reserve the right to decline a package should its shipping labels be unsuitable for order fulfillment based on the aforementioned requirements.

Possible consequences of inputting wrong dimension/weight

Under this policy, we require that the dimension and/or weight of the package declared in Seller Center match the actual size of the package. We reserve the right to deactivate corresponding product(s) for packages that are identified to be not in adherence with this policy.

The deactivated product listing will be reflected in Growth Center.

You are required to edit the content of the weight and/or dimensions of the package (of the corresponding product(s)) in Seller Center in order to reactivate the product listing.

Sellers who have been identified to repeatedly declare incorrect dimensions and/or weight of the package(s), resulting in overcharging, will be issued up to 1 Non-Compliance Point per incident. The corresponding product(s) will also be locked.

If you receive a notification about your policy violation and you would like to file appeal request, you may do so in the Growth Center.

Monitoring of Accuracy of Shipping Charges

At Lazada, we monitor the accuracy of shipping charges declared by sellers closely. All products that are wrongly declared in Seller Center will be highlighted in Growth Center – this page will provide you with an overview of all products that are either over-charged or under-charged.
