I. What is a sales invoice?
A sales invoice is a document that serves as a customer's proof of purchase. An invoice must contain the following information:
Date of transaction
Description of merchandise
Unit cost
Quantity
The sales invoice provided by sellers to their customers is different from the Seller Center Invoice.
II. Why do I need to give my customers a sales invoice?
The Tax Code of the Philippines requires all sellers to provide their customers with invoices for all purchases worth at least PHP 100.
In compliance with the BIR, Lazada issues a refund to a customer if a legally-registered shop is unable to provide a sales invoice. Refunds due to the non-issuance of sales invoices will be charged to the seller.
Please see Title IX, Chapter II, Sec. 237 of the Tax Code.
