I. What is Virtual Kitting?

Virtual Kitting is a smart solution to bundling.

Enables seller to bundle different warehouse SKUs (let’s call them child SKUs) into one bundled SKU (let’s call them parent SKUs) without actual inbound, outbound, or physical packaging.

The kitting SKU has a standalone PDP, the same as a non-kitted SKU. Buyer purchases as one item, receives as one item, and returns as one item.

Kitting is a hybrid solution that takes the critical features from Flexicombo and Physical bundles

Product Inspection

1. Select “Product” from the Seller Center menu

2. Then select “Manage Products”. Once selected, should redirect to a page containing all existing Products under the Seller

Newly created bundle will be in the list of all existing products. While product is not yet set to “Online”, it should be under the “All” Tab.

Upon bundle PDP inspection, the inputted “Variants” (in this case, Volume and Flavor) are visible. Buyers are free to toggle their choices.

This is what the bundle looks like once it is added to cart. Similar to other regular, nonbundle SKUs, product descriptors are shown and order quantities may also be changed.

Checking out the bundle will also be a similar experience to checking out regular, nonbundle SKUs.

III. Current System Limitations on Package Consolidation

Manual Split

1. Semi Bulkyand irregular shaped item plus small item (Milk pack in box and wet wipes) cannot be bundled together.

2. Fence-zone item plus Non Fence-zone item (Cellphone located in FZ + Health and Beauty item located outside FZ) cannot be bundled together.

3. Scenarios where existing items cannot be fit together in the existing packaging will result in a manual split. This happens on a case to case basis.

System Split

1. Once SKU is tagged as whole package (e.g. Diaper Box, TV, Ref, and other Bulky Items), they can no longer be bundled with other small items.

2. Consolidated orders above 20KG cannot be bundled. In a situation with a 25KG order, package will split into 2; Order A = 20KG, Order B = 5KG.


IV. Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can Sample SKUs (0 cost SKUs not visible in the store) be included in Virtual Bundles? Or need to execute this solely through flexi combo module through “free sample”?

  • Theoretically, yes. But this scenario will be tested during the UAT and final capability will be shared prior to March 8 pilot. Currently, best practice is still to use flexicombo.

2. Can sellers do the Virtual Kitting during the “add products” phase, or can seller create bundles with already existing items?

  • Yes, Sellers can do Virtual Kitting with already existing SKUs (products they have uploaded before) on their Seller Centers.

3. What are the size dimensions for the different Lazada Warehouse Zones?

  • Logistics/Operations team to provide the exact parameters/specifications of qualified SKUs under each Warehouse Zone. You may contact your FBL team.

4. Does Virtual Kitting only work for FBL stocks?

  • Can work for FBL and Retail stocks.

5. What’s the maximum number of Parent SKUs per Seller? And the max number of Child SKUs per Bundle?

  • Max Child SKUs/Bundle = 15 Child SKUs

  • Max Bundles/Seller = No limits

  • 10 Parent SKUs MAX for each Child SKU

6. How will the Bundle SKUs be for sellers under Multi-Warehouse?

  • If the Child SKUs will be sourced from different warehouses, it will be delivered as a split package.

7. If seller decides to do a storewide flexicombo, will the kitting SKUs be included?

  • Yes, Bundles will be included in the storewide flexicombo.

8. How will the FBL fulfillment fee computed for the bundles? Per item or as a whole bundle?

  • FBL fulfillment fee would consider the entire bundle as one single item.

9. Can different variations of a Child SKU be included in a bundle? (e.g. same child SKU, different variants of color, grammage, etc.)

  • Yes. Can include different variations of a Child SKU in one Bundle/Parent SKU. The options will be available in the pop-up list showing the available SKUs for inclusion.
