Pre-Loved Assortment Policy

Introduction

Preloved Assortment refers to products that are listed on the Lazada Platform that are either (a) refurbished, (b) used, or (c) secondhand. These types of products are considered CONTROLLED goods on the Lazada Platform, the sale of which is only limited to select items in compliance with the guidelines listed below, in addition to the Prohibited and Controlled Goods policy and other policies on the Lazada Platform (collectively, the “Policies”). Sellers who list Preloved Assortments that do not adhere to the Policies will have their listings locked and could potentially receive non-compliance points, in addition to other penalties and actions that may be taken by Lazada in accordance with the Terms of Service (Sellers).

Policy

The listing of Preloved Assortment is allowed on the Lazada Platform as long as sellers are able to comply with the following guidelines and requirements set below, as well as the Policies.

1. General Guidelines

1.1 Sellers are not allowed to sell or distribute products that violate any of our existing policies, including the Prohibited and Controlled Products Policy and the Restricted Brands Policy.

1.2 Sellers are not allowed to list products as Preloved Assortment if they are inappropriate or unfit to be listed as such. The following is a non-exhaustive list of these prohibited products:

  • Digital goods (ex. Coupons, vouchers, codes, game credits, etc.)

  • Groceries

  • Food items and other perishable goods (ex. meat, vegetables, milk, etc.)

  • Health and Beauty items (ex: medicine, make-up, lotion, sexual wellness items, etc.)

  • Fashion delicates (ex. Underwear, Swimwear, Socks, etc.)

  • Services (ex. Installation, automotive care, etc.)

Lazada reserves the right to determine in its sole discretion whether a listing is prohibited, and to immediately take down any listing without prior notice.

1.3 The listing and sale of Preloved Assortment will only be limited to local Marketplace.

1.4 The seller is responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, and must have the necessary licenses or permissions relating to the presentation, sale, offer for sale, advertising and distribution of
Preloved Assortments.

1.5 Lazada requires the seller to display only items that are in usable condition. In addition, the seller must clearly state the condition of the goods in the product listing (product title, images,
description).

1.6 Seller must ensure that any listing will not infringe on any third party’s intellectual property rights, and will not violate Lazada’s Intellectual Property Rights Policy.

2. Content & Listing Guidelines

2.1 Condition Attribute: Seller must identify the ‘Condition’ attribute on the product listing page,
under Product Specification section, as either ‘Preloved’ or ‘Refurbished’, whichever applies.

  • Preloved – includes secondhand / previously owned or used items. Tag for fashion, general merchandise, and non-refurbished electronics

  • Refurbished – usually for used electronic products or gadgets. Products that have been inspected / repaired, and verified to function properly by the manufacturer or an authorized third party. Usually comes with a short-term express warranty.

Note that if the Condition attribute is not visible on the product listing page, preloved selling is not allowed for the category chosen.

2.2 Product Title: Product title must include [PRELOVED] or [REFURBISHED] at the beginning to ensure that buyers are aware of the condition of the products. Listings that do not follow this guideline may be taken down immediately. For example:

  • [PRELOVED] Beach Maxi Dress Ankle Length – Rust Color

  • [REFURBISHED] Lenovo Laptop ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 with Charger

  • [PRELOVED] Michael Jordan Funko Pop #54 NBA Series – Mint Condition

2.3 Product Images: Sellers must utilize their own product images for these listings. The use of images from other stores or online websites without permission is strictly prohibited under Lazada’s Intellectual Property Rights Policy. Products in violation of said guidelines may be taken down immediately.

Product images must clearly show the use condition of the product. A good set of product photos must show the following:

  • Product

  • Parts/things that come with the product (if any), and

  • Use Condition/ Defects of the product (if any) – Ex: scratches, stains, dents

2.4 Product Description: Seller must provide complete and clear information in the product description
of the listing to ensure full transparency to buyers.

  • Product Inclusions: Product description must state all the inclusions of the product, including the express warranty period (if any). These inclusions should also be included in one of the product images (not necessarily the main image). For example, a laptop product may include a charger and a laptop bag.

  • Product Limitations: In the event that the product is limited by region or service provider, the seller
    must clearly specify these details on the product description.

  • Product Condition: The condition of the product must be stated, including traces of use and any
    possible defects. For example: battery life, scratches or dents, color fading, holes, stains, etc.

  • Other: Should the product include a code for additional content, the seller must clearly specify the status of its use. Should a redemption code no longer be available, it must be stated on the product
    display page.

2.5 Compliance: Product listings that violate the aforementioned guidelines may be taken down in accordance with Lazada Seller Policies. Repeat offenders may be levied with non-compliance points (NCPs) or may be taken down and prevented from participating in the preloved category.

3. Order Management Guidelines

3.1 Products listed as Preloved Assortment will need to abide by all Order Management & Fulfillment policies. This includes the fulfillment of orders within the agreed upon SLAs.

3.2 Sellers are also expected to comply with Lazada’s policies on Returns management. The seller will be responsible for handling return requests made through the Direct Return to Merchant (DRTM) program in a timely and proper manner.
